Color and light are essential to our lives. We know that sunlight is basic to life, growth, health and energy. Depriving plants or animals of adequate light causes disease and/or destruction.
In the same way, humans need sunlight as well as the full color spectrum to maintain health and balance. It is a proven fact that lack of sunlight contributes to depression for some people, and a lack of Vitamin D in people that stay indoors most of the time.
The sun alone is wonderfully therapeutic. Sunlight can be split into the prismatic colors and their combinations in the same way that white light is split by passing through a prism. Each element gives off characteristic color waves, which are seen as colors.
The body absorbs color through the eyes, the skin and the aura. If any part of the body is weak, quite often the right color in the right place can restore balance.
What is Color?
Color is a form of electromagnetic energy that makes up visible light. It is made up of different wavelengths and frequencies – each color having its own particular wavelength and frequency. These frequencies and wavelengths make up visible light energy and are a small part of the electromagnetic spectrum that makes up the Universe. The spectrum ranges between Infrared and Ultra violet. All the primary colors reflected in the rainbow carry their own unique properties. Spectro-Chrome color therapy utilizes these properties to re-establish balance and equilibrium in the body, mind and spirit in a holistic way.
Spectro-Chrome Color Therapy
Spectro-Chrome therapy is a system of using color to balance the body and support well-being.
The Spectro-Chrome system evolved from the research, studies and contributions of many scientists, doctors and researchers. Some of them include Sir Isaac Newton, Dr. William Wollaston, Joseph von Fraunhofer, Gustav Kirshhoff, Robert von Bunsen, Sir William Crookes, Dr. Seth Pancoast, and Dr. Edwin D. Babbitt.
Continuing the research of his forebearers, Dinshah P. Ghadiali further researched and developed the ideas, methods and techniques over many years. In 1897, he began lecturing on the subject and established the Spectro-Chrome Institute in New York City, eventually teaching one hundred classes in Spectro-Chrome.
The power of the methods did not go unnoticed, and Dinshah soon found himself defending Spectro-Chrome in court against the medical profession.
In time, the Spectro-Chrome Institute was dissolved and replaced by a non-profit corporation, The Dinshah Health Society, with the goal of educating more people about the value of Spectro-Chrome color therapy for their health and wellness.
